Language Translation

September 28th, 2009

Last week we made some major changes to the Attla Online Store opening the shipping to Europe, and adding dual currency to display prices in both £ and €. We also added translation for the major European languages utilizing Google Language Tools.

These changes, combined with targeted adverts in European magazines and grass roots promotion, look set to open up an entire new market for the store. It’s a very wise move as due to the current exchange rate, European customers are looking to the UK for better deals online. It’s a great example of a company turning the economic downturn in their favour – well done Attla!

Festival of Talents

July 2nd, 2009

I recently designed the promotion for the Linkinhorne ‘Festival of Talents’ which featured on ITV last night and was recognized for its work bringing the community back together and championing local businesses.

Not so much a ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ as a coming together of the community to demonstrate and show off skills including stonemasonry, hairstyling, mechanics, basket weaving, photography…

At a time when chain stores are moving into more and more towns, smaller businesses are being pushed out, and local economies are being hit hard (as if a recession wasn’t bad enough!) By keeping trade within the region the money spent flows back through the local economy and maintains a thriving community – something which is all too quickly being lost.

If your in the area do try to come along, I’ll be there exhibiting and it would be great to meet you :)

Teepay

May 1st, 2009

Howies have just launched a new site/company this afternoon.

Teepay is a site where you can design and upload your own T-shirt designs, if people like it enough to buy it they can place an order, but only T’s with 50+ orders get printed. Democracy in action!

The “Thought Shower” Illustration from my blog is available to buy here.

New Website

October 22nd, 2008

It’s true what they say, designing for yourself is truly the hardest thing!

That said, I’m really pleased with the new site, and if you’re reading this shortly after it’s published you should get a taste of what it’s going to be like - more to come!

Keep checking back for more updates…
