Design Process

"Every project is unique - people have different needs, timescales and budgets. There’s no point in pushing a square peg into a round hole so each project is approached slightly differently - very differently when necessary!"

There are still some basic stages which are almost always employed:

  1. The Brief

“Every problem contains within itself the seeds of its own solution.”
    Stanley Arnold

Establishing a clear brief is essential in making sure both designer and client are singing from the same song sheet. Defining the parameters of a project and the criteria on which its success will be judged enable a creative outcome which fulfills all the requirements and achieves results.

  2. Research

To tailor a project to your organisation it’s paramount to understand your values, brand, market position, and customer expectations. Through consultation and research these elements create a picture which help to direct creative thinking and problem solving.

  3. Concept

Using all the creative juices available the information gathered in the brief and research is used to fuel initial ideas, the best of which will be presented for review.

  4. Concept Development

Working closely with you the chosen idea and visuals are refined into a final solution and worked through the rest of the project.

  5. Production

Implementing the ideas with finesse is crucial to their success, Ark partners with specialists where necessary to ensure a high quality of work throughout the project.
